Weaning Bean, 40 Days and 40 Nights

Day 30

Mom down

Whatever had Bean sick the other night got me too. Yesterday after work I felt so tired. After picking Bean up from my parents house I came home and suddenly had body aches, chills, and nausea. Nooooo! I just knew I could not be coming down with the flu! That would mean having to tell my husband that my flu shot didn’t work and I’d never hear the end of his conspiracy theories.

I went straight into mom mode fixing Bean’s dinner and getting his bag and clothes ready for his first day at a new school. After about an hour it hurt to move. Bean was non-stop and going crazy because we were out of chicken fries. I knew in my heart that if I could just go to sleep I’d feel better. But it was 7:30 and Bean was no where near ready to sleep. I even tried to bribe him with Night-night!

I ended up calling my mom and because my parents are angels they decided that dad would go get me some medicine, bring it to my house, and take Bean back with them so I could sleep and feel better!

So I know you’re wondering if this means I skipped out on nursing Bean at all… well… no. It had already been 24 hrs and I was afraid to go another 24 hours because I was full already and also feeling sad that I had to take him to a new school the next day. Also, I’m a total sucker. So I let him nurse before my dad came to pick him up. If I’m being honest though, I could have sent him to my parents with out nursing him and he would not have noticed.

He only nursed for 10 minutes and then sat beside me to watch Dinotrux. He looked at me and said “play trucks mommy?” I told him mommy didn’t feel good and my tummy hurt. “You tummy hurt?” He asked sweetly. Then he grabbed a hold of my hand as if to say it would be okay. I love my butter bean.

10 days to go.

  1. Mom says:

It’s amazing how children really can sense and care if their mommy is hurting.
Kaleb can be such a sweetie. Demanding, but sweet.πŸ˜€πŸ˜Šβ€οΈ
